Gwo Pwèl

This is the second book released as part of the "Tears of my Heart" trilogy series.

If you are not from Saint Lucia or one of the islands in the Caribbean that speak Kwéyòl you are most likely not familiar with the term. No worries, I will explain.

When one is dealing with being heartbroken, and they long to rekindle that relationship, to the point where they are either on the brink of depression or already completely depressed, we say they have a "gwo pwèl." They are drinking their lives away, not eating properly and just downright miserable.

Have I experienced it? Of course. However, not to the point of depression, just wanted to fix the relationship because I believed there was much more to experience together.

The tears in this book were inspired mostly from my past relationships with some others from standing outside on the sidelines of my friends' relationships.

Unlike Unabashed and Barefaced, this book is divided into 3 parts:

  • Part 1: To be or not to be
  • Part 2: A rollercoaster romance
  • Part 3: Dagger chronicles
I tried my best to organize each tear in pattern in a way that they flow and take the reader on a journey that shows how you can meet someone, grow to love them and then that same person is the one who forces you to feel a hurt that forces anger and the worse thoughts.

I also hope that you encouragement because our situations can always be temporary if you put in the work required to overcome and breakthrough.

Do let me know your thoughts, share it in the comments and we can discuss either there or through a blog post.

Thank you for reading and by extension supporting my poetry journey.

xoxo
